Two Fort Hood soldiers sentenced for trafficking illegal aliens into US

It's bad enough that Joe Biden's regime has dismantled all legal hurdles to entering the United States illegally, but the administration was apparently getting some assistance from a couple of dishonorable U.S. soldiers. Two Army soldiers stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, have been sentenced in a case involving the trafficking of illegal aliens into the interior of the United States, according to reports earlier this week. Isaiah Gore, 21, and Denerio Williams, 22, pleaded guilty Dec. 2, 2021, while another co-conspirator Ivory Palmer, 21, pleaded guilty Jan. 10, the Department of Justice noted in a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas. The three were sentenced March 25. The press release stated: "Today, U.S. District Judge Marina Garcia Marmolejo imposed a 30-month-term of imprisonment for Gore, while Williams received 24 months. Both must also serve three years of supervised release following their sentences. In handing down the prison terms, Judge Marmolejo noted that Gore and Williams, as soldiers in the Army, were "not the average citizen," which justified a tougher sentence. Judge Marmolejo also emphasized that everyone involved in the scheme knew that wearing a uniform would assist in evading detection or arrest. "The investigation began June 13, 2021. On that day, authorities caught Emmanuel Oppongagyare and Ralph Gregory Saint-Joie smuggling, undocumented aliens, in the trunk of a vehicle at the Border Patrol (BP) checkpoint located in Hebbronville. At the time of arrest, both men were wearing their U.S. Army uniforms. "Oppongagyare later admitted Gore recruited them to pick the aliens up from McAllen and drive them to San Antonio. Oppongagyare and Saint-Joie were indicted and pleaded guilty Aug. 11 and 12, respectively, in 2021. Both are currently awaiting sentencing before U.S. District Judge Diana Saldaña." A joint investigation that involved the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) investigative unit as well as the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division later confirmed that Oppongagyare, Saint-Joie, Williams and Palmer all played a role in the conspiracy, acting as drivers who traveled to locations in the Lone Star State to pick up illegal aliens in exchange for payment. Later, investigators confirmed that Gore was active in recruiting the other soldiers in picking up the illegals. "Both Gore and Williams were permitted to remain on bond and voluntarily surrender to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future. Gore has since been discharged from the Army," the press release said, adding that Palmer has not yet been sentenced. Meanwhile, Border Patrol encounters with illegal aliens have continued to set new monthly records throughout Biden's awful tenure – and they are about to go off the charts again. Reports this week say that the regime is considering ending Title 42, a statute enacted during the Trump administration authorizing Border Patrol and other immigration enforcement agents to immediately deport migrants caught crossing the border illegally during the COVID-19 pandemic. As word has spread south of the border that Biden will soon sign the order ending Title 42, up to one million migrants who have been camped out along the U.S.-Mexico border are preparing to essentially storm the border en masse – and the regime knows it. "U.S. intelligence officials are privately bracing for a massive influx of more than 170,000 migrants at the Mexico border if COVID-era policies that allow instant expulsions during the public health emergency are ended, sources with direct knowledge of the discussions tell Axios," the outlet reported. Two Democratic senators, in fact, have implored the administration not to end the statute. Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly, both of Arizona, have written to Biden pleading with him to leave the authority in place. "We write to you to express great concern about the lack of a specific plan from your Administration with respect to potential changes to the Title 42 Public Health authority, which the DHS has relied on at the border during the coronavirus pandemic," their letter said. "Given the impacts that changes to Title 42 could have on border communities, border security and migrants, we urge your Administration not to make any changes to Title 42 implementation until you are completely ready to execute and coordinate a comprehensive plan that ensures a secure, orderly, and humane process at the border. We also request that you provide a full briefing to Congress on your plan before implementation and execution," it continued. "Last month alone, CBP expelled 91,513 migrants under Title 42, and processed 73,460 individuals under Title 8.1 The January figures are comparable, showing only a slight trend upward on the number of expulsions. Of those encounters, nearly 30 percent occurred in Arizona. A sharp end to Title 42 without a comprehensive plan in motion would significantly increase the strain on DHS, border communities and local nonprofits that are already near or at capacity," the senators added. Prediction: Biden's handlers don't care and will have him sign an order ending Title 42 anyway. Expect more chaos. Sources include: Yahoo.com Justice.gov Axios.com PatriotsForPresidentTrump.com
